I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can pause and reflect on what matters to you, without fear of judgement or the need to be anything other than you are. You may have a specific issue such as anxiety or panic, burnout, grief or relationship difficulties, or perhaps you want to undergo a more general exploration of your sense of self or the way you are living. I welcome people who have experienced trauma or abuse, and have specialist training in grief and loss.
About me and my practice
I have a deep respect for the complexity and unique experience of each person who comes to see me. My aim is to offer a collaborative relationship within which we can explore whatever you bring, at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling is a fluid and lively process that can facilitate self-awareness and lasting change. If you can gain clarity about your experience of the world, this can help you come to terms with pain and difficulty, and to see where you may be making choices that are rooted in past strategies which no longer serve you. Counselling can also encourage a greater sense of freedom about who you are, and how you might live in the now and in the future.
Sessions are held online via Zoom, or face-to-face in a calm and welcoming space in central Brighton. I offer short-term therapy (6 or 8 sessions) or open-ended, long-term therapy.
I am a qualified humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor. I also have specialist training in bereavement and loss. I am a long-time practitioner of meditation and can offer mindfulness techniques to clients who would like to explore this way of working.

Initial Consultation
You can arrange a free phone call so that you can get a sense of me and decide whether to book an initial session - just send me a message and we can find a time that suits.
The first session is offered at a reduced rate of £30 and lasts 50 minutes. This session is intended as a gentle exploration of what brings you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. You are very welcome to ask me any questions about the way I work or about my background. If I don't feel that I can help you then I will be happy to recommended other practitioners who might be a more suitable match.
Feel free to get in touch with me - I look forward to hearing from you.
